About American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine:
The American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine (ACTCM) in San Francisco has provided affordable, quality health care to the public and trained professionals in acupuncture, massage and Chinese medicine since 1980. In 1986 ACTCM became the first college in the country to award a Master of Science degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine (MSTCM). In addition to the college¹s graduate curriculum, ACTCM offers continuing education to practitioners, entry-level courses open to the public, community outreach services, and clinical care in acupuncture and herbal medicine. The college, which currently has over 330 current students and 900 alumni, treats over 20,000 patients in its community clinic each year. ACTCM has been the recipient of many awards for its curriculum, faculty and clinic, and has been voted ³Best of the Bay² by both the San Francisco Weekly and the San Francisco Bay Guardian. ACTCM has also received international media attention for its groundbreaking education and advocacy work on behalf of endangered species. ACTCM is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine and is a private, nonprofit, 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization.
About the ACTCM Community Clinic:
The American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine (ACTCM) Community Clinic, founded in 1981, is a community-oriented teaching clinic. Our mission is to provide effective, affordable treatment for a wide variety of conditions and diseases using acupuncture, herbs and other healing modalities of Traditional Chinese Medicine. The college¹s clinical faculty consist of extensively-trained practitioners who have been selected for their expertise, areas of specialty, experience working in integrative medicine, and thorough knowledge of today¹s health conditions. ACTCM clinical interns are in the final phase of a rigorous four-year program taught by experts in Traditional Chinese Medicine healing techniques. Interns treat patients under the direct supervision of clinical faculty who are California licensed acupuncturists. The ACTCM clinic features its own full-service herbal dispensary that carries an extensive selection of high quality raw herbs, powdered herbs and herbal pills. On average, over 135 students treat more than 350 patients in the clinic each week. Over 20,000 patients are treated annually in our Community Clinic and CAP sites. ACTCM¹s Community Clinic is proud to have been honored for the quality of our patient care and named "Best of the Bay" by both the San Francisco Bay Guardian and the San Francisco Weekly newspapers.
